Did you know the media can influence your business and your life?
Marshall McLuhan once wrote that the “medium is the message.”
With the Internet and social media, cable television, online and print publications, blogs, websites and event texting, this statement has never been more true than it is today. How you act and how others act toward you can live in cyberspace forever. However, each individual medium can affect your business, and if it’s negative, you could have an uphill battle. But not always. Look at all of the recalled cars over the years. Frequent marketing and advertising has alerted consumers to new cars, sales, etc., without mentioning how many millions of cars that were recalled for one reason or another.
The only time the issue resurfaces in the media is when broadcast, cable and print and online news sources cover a new recall and just happen to mention previous recalls.
On a smaller scale, if you’re a restaurant with one or more bad reviews, your reputation may have been impaired even though we always say people are entitled to their opinions.
The media can influence in a positive way too. Look at World News Tonight and its “Made in America” segments – all of which have helped grow American-based businesses, which adds jobs, and in turn, positively impacts the economy.
But behind the scenes are those who can influence various mediums. For example, lobbyists exist to influence legislation and legislators directly– just like publicists. Then, there are publicists whose job it is to influence through the pitching and placement of specific story angles that will are designed to positively affect their clients’ business.
The Attitude Group is an influencer. Our services include social media management to influence targeted audiences. It includes reputation management to help build and rebuild a business’ or individual’s reputation. We offer crisis management to hit the ground running to stave off any sudden negative media effects from a specific incident and turn those negatives into positives.
In addition, we offer public and media relations to garner media coverage for you, your product(s), services and/or business.
The Attitude Group also offers its clients the ability to influence the media and consumers through ghost-written blogs, through effective website design and through the development of apps for your business.
And yes, we can even help with your advertising to further help you get the word out — influencing media and consumers alike. No firm is more tuned to how the various mediums can be influenced. Why that’s what we do. When other agencies can’t, The Attitude Group can.
